I got this chair from another recent deal at $100, and I love it. Some key points I took away from the previous threads regarding this model is

1. Hyken is best for smaller people, ideally ~5'4 maybe?
2.For taller people, the Dexley also sold by Staples and often on sale for ~$20 more is more suitable.
3. I'm 5'6, and while the chair felt comfortable, the headrest was a little too low even for me. I followed an online guide for a "mod" that turns the headrest support upside down so that it sits higher. I can't be happier with the result.

Sorry I can't share the mod, I'm at work and firewall you know 😕

Man these were like $150 'on sale' during the pandemic. After accounting for inflation, tariffs, any number of other reasons and excuses, I'd expect this to be like $250 now. $90 seems like a great price

I had bought the dexley, the more expensive version of this chair and am dissatisfied. Quickly it started squeaking, it wobbles at the seat point, I need to push forward on the back in order to lock it in the forward position, sometimes the locking mechanism straight up doesn't work and will disengage and then is caught by thr next locking point. Headrest has always been squeaky. Haven't bothered to try wd40 since it had all these other problems. But all these issues surfaced within a couple months of use. Headrest squeaked from the jump.

If u need a new gaming chair for ur kid this is the one to get. I have two of them, I paid 150 two years ago for one and 75 for the 2nd one a year later during a major sale. I got both in red so the kids don't fight over different chairs lol. U won't regret it

#3 The reason you think the headrest is too low is because it is a neck rest, not a head rest. I am also 5' 6", I own this chair and have been using it for about 8 months, and the neck rest is slightly too high for me which is to be expected since this chair is designed for someone who is "American standard height" of 5' 10" tall. Someone of that size would perfectly fit the neck rest of this chair. I tried it without the neck rest and I'd rather just slouch down a little and use it like a head rest than remove it because there are times I still want to use it. At its lowest setting it is barely short enough for me to put my feet on the ground without cutting off circulation to the back of my legs where the front of the chair touches the back of my knees, and when I tried to replace the casters with rollerblade style wheels because I use the chair on high knap carpet it raised the chair by 1.1 inches making it slightly too tall even at its lowest setting so now the front of the chair pushes into the back of my legs just above my knees and it is very uncomfortable and my legs hurt after about an hour of use whereas when it was low enough for my feet to touch the ground I could sit for 8 hours without my legs ever hurting.

Staples is tacking on a $12.75 even for store pickup. When did Staples start to suck so hard? Did it just sneak up on us?
yes, it kills the deal.

Took a little over an hour for me. I received $10 off of $50.

I have the Dexley mesh chair and this Costco mesh chair. The Costco chair is built far better than the Dexley, which I would assume is comparable to Hyken. Costco feels solid while the Staples feels flimsy. The Staples recline locking mechanism broke within 3 months and the hydraulic piston attached to the plastic piece w/ the wheels is now touching the floor (seems like a common problem in reviews). For $20 more, I would 100% get the Costco chair again over Staples.

This looks very similar to one I bought years ago from Office Depot, I loved it until the cheap alloy (or whatever) screws that held the back to the seat gave way (all 3 at once) and I fell back onto the floor. This chair might be different, but I'd replace those screws with stainless steel ones from the hardware store just to be careful! 6' 185#. Game on!
