Ok price. Other brands can be found cheaper now and then, so not the very best for a basic lopper.
Is not the PowerGear model, so cutting anything over 1/2" can become a chore.
This. I am disappointed with these. The effort to cut branches is a lot harder than I anticipated. I am a big guy too. Wish I bought the power gear version instead.

I was disappointed with how hard it is to cut anything but twigs with these. Wish I bought the power gear version.

Hatchets and axes are sold dull, because sharpening them is a required part of their use. Did you sharpen your hatchet?
I don't know where you are shopping, but they are typically sharp when you buy them, just like all the garden shears and loppers that also should be sharpened periodically.

was thinking the same thing yesterday as i used one of these and i ended up twisting and tearing the small branches cause this wouldn't cut them. i'll be generous and say I get about 2 decent uses out of them. but i guess they are quite a bit cheaper than they were when i first started buying them 20 some years ago...
That's common with bypass loppers. Keep them at 90 degrees to the branch and it'll largely solve that issue for you.

Yeah, both my axes came sharp from Amazon. The chopping axe is scary good. Will cut smaller stuff with near zero effort

For the original complaint: Fisker's has a lifetime warranty, it just return the item if it's really new. I broke a pitchfork after several years and they replaced it, no issues. Took about 4 weeks, so more I have 2 but that's ok I'm my case.

Cheap, but if you have to prune larger stuff pay more for the compound loppers.

It's not even worth buying non-compound loppers, anything they can cut can probably be cut with shears or some other tool. You're going to have a very, very bad time cutting a 1.5" branch with these things.

The compound ones have far more leverage, I didn't even know they made non-compound ones until this deal.

Example of how a compound lopper looks:

I got Corona extendable bypass loppers just about 2 years ago from Woot! for $23 and those things just massacred an out of control juniper a few days ago, so they've still got it. I trust Corona more than Fiskars.
