Great monitor - worth it. However, it is INSANELY hot and it's parabolic shape radiates you with an uncomfortable level of heat. Turning the brightness down does help, but it does not solve the issue. I've tried a number of things to help, the best I've been able to come up with is a fan blowing across the front of the screen.
Would I buy again? Of course, the heat is super annoying though.
This is probably the greatest productivity monitor on the market at the moment simply due to the amount of real estate you get from a single screen.
If you've been eyeing this monitor, I think this is worth pulling the trigger on at this price point.
finally pulled the trigger. used 10% to get it to 1316.42 after tax. Savor (capital one card) gives 6% for samsung monitors right now so takes a chunk of the tax out just FYI if you have a capital one credit card.
The 57 inch Odyssey Neo G9 stands out as a huge productivity monitor that can replace dual screens, with Picture by Picture and screen splitting making it easy to keep work laptop and personal PC side by side. The extra width and 4K resolution are especially useful for spreadsheets, cross referencing, and daily office work, and gaming performance looks excellent with a strong GPU. The main drawbacks are that the far edges are less comfortable to use, it can run very hot for some setups, and native high refresh needs serious graphics power. It is a strong fit when desk space and GPU headroom are not limiting factors.
people using screen-splitting workflows (like Picture-by-Picture or Microsoft PowerToys) because commenters report PIP can effectively split it into two monitors and that the experience is much better than using two separate displays.
gamers who already have a beefy GPU and want to run high refresh at native resolution because commenters note gaming is great but you'll need a strong GPU to drive it at high refresh in native resolution.
buyers who can use Samsung Care+ and want a smoother warranty experience than third-party options because multiple commenters mention buying specifically for warranty coverage and then loving the monitor for work/gaming after setup.
office workers who want "single-screen real estate" for daily productivity because the 57" Odyssey Neo G9 gives a huge amount of usable workspace in one monitor and commenters say it's a major advantage at this price point.
knowledge workers who cross-reference lots of windows because commenters say the 57" size makes things "a mere glance away" instead of constantly clicking/dragging to pull up other apps.
buyers hoping to rely on PayPal Pay in 4 / 20% cash back as part of the deal because multiple commenters report PayPal Pay in 4 being denied (even with good credit), and others note the offer has strict qualification rules.
people who are sensitive to heat from electronics because one commenter says the monitor runs "insanely hot," and the parabolic shape can radiate uncomfortable heat even after lowering brightness (they needed a fan workaround).
Mac users who don't game enough and mainly want it for productivity because one commenter regrets buying it for productivity and says it's overkill for their Mac needs since they don't game enough to justify it.
people who need the monitor to wake reliably from sleep via mouse/keyboard because one commenter reports a known sleep/wake issue where it won't wake with mouse/keyboard and they had to disable sleep.
It can be denied even with strong credit, and the checkout total must be under the stated threshold for the offer to apply. The offer also has to be activated in PayPal offers before checkout, and business accounts may not qualify.
It offers massive single-screen real estate that works well for office productivity, with enough space for many spreadsheets, chat apps, and cross-references at once. Picture-by-Picture and screen-splitting tools can effectively turn it into two monitors, but the far edges are less convenient than the center for frequently used windows.
The 10% discount comes from signing up for Samsung text promotions on the product page. Refreshing the page or using incognito can help the signup offer appear, and the code is then texted to you.
Yes. At 57 inches and dual-4K resolution, high-refresh gaming at native settings needs a beefy GPU, though it can still look excellent with strong hardware and DLSS-style scaling.
The promo 24-inch S3 can be resold to offset the cost, and one buyer noted it was listed around $107 on Samsung's site, about $95 with 10% off. It cannot be returned from a bundle offer.
it's the sign up for the text one. just refresh the page and look for it. maybe use incognito mode if you're not seeing it. if you're already subbed then it may not work? but yeah i just got it from the product page and signed up and they texted me a 10% code.

I bought mine earlier in the year from Best Buy for the sake of the warranty. Absolutely love it and I was coming from a 42 inch C2 OLED.
I do miss the true black of an OLED, but the screen size is worth it. For productivity, you have never seen anything like this. I have about 8 spreadsheets open, at a time, and still have room for other things. My favorite part about it is the Picture By Picture option. I keep my work laptop going on one screen and my personal computer on the other. I just use a usb sharing switch to flip my peripherals between the two.
For gaming...unreal. I can't play on my TV anymore. In Battlefield, you literally turn your physical head and can see people coming from the sides.
Wondering if bestbuy would price match this deal? Probably not since it's EPP/EDU special.
Hesitant about buying from Samsung due to bad experiences reported online dealing with their customer service. I would prefer to buy from BB and get a geeksquad warranty on it, but not sure if we can get similar price at bestbuy.
Anyone can comment on Samsung Care? Is it a lot of hassle to deal with? How does it compare to GeekSquad warranty?
I picked this up at $1349 a little over a month ago and I absolutely love it. It rips on AAA games with a 5080 and looks amazing. I'm playing BF6 right now in 4K on overkill graphics and its incredible. I also use it in conjunction with a 34" monitor mounted above on a 2 arm wall mount I picked up from Amazon. For productivity, you feel like you'll never run out of work space.
Delivery was smooth and no issues setting it up or using it. Only issue is if the computer sends the monitor to sleep, it won't wake up by moving the mouse or keyboard. It's a known issue and there might very well be an easy fix out there (I haven't really looked), but I just disabled sleep and haven't messed with it yet. I gave away the promo monitor to my son's friend but you could easily sell it to recoup some cost.

I'm currently using a 43 inch 4K TV myself, and I've been serious considering this monitor. Do you miss the vertical space that you lost. Granted it's not a whole lot, but you do lose some. @jclyon41

what kind of fps are you getting for bf6 overkill? how much frame gen are you using? I was considering this with 5090 but was worried it would not be able to push 240 fps for 2x4k resolution

Makes me worry about the longevity of the panel. Plus I don't trust Samsung...

Picture-by-Picture can split the setup into separate work and personal areas for multitasking without extra monitors.
The monitor can deliver strong gaming visuals and performance when paired with a capable GPU.
The monitor's single-screen real estate can improve office productivity by reducing the need to juggle multiple displays.
The 57-inch size can make at-a-glance cross-referencing more convenient than clicking and dragging between windows.
PayPal Pay in 4 discounts can be denied, and the offer criteria may be unclear during checkout.
The monitor can run extremely hot, and the parabolic shape may make that heat uncomfortable during use.
The monitor may not wake from sleep using mouse or keyboard input, which can require disabling sleep settings.
Native high-refresh gaming can require a beefy GPU, since high refresh at native resolution is demanding.
