How can we identify which Best Buy locations have open-box stock besides changing store locations one at a time and checking if an open box is in stock there? That's a slow, manual effort, and this seems like a very limited YMMV deal.

I've been checking for this open box to be available several times a day for the past month, in several major population center, and it hasn't been in stock anywhere. It's like they're not actually selling this anymore in open box form

It's literally the only way - even customer support can't see. You just have to do zip codes across the US until you find one in stock within 250 miles of that zip code.
