Amazon has already price matched this kit. CamelX3 shows today's sale price being the second best price over the last year, with only last December's $548 price beating it. Slickdeals price history shows this going down to $509 within the last year. Also, the retail price has gone up over the last year from $799 to $859.

Not bad, if only they could just make it with a helical cutter head without having to convert it yourself for another $350 - $500.

Buy once cry once. Have had mine for 4 years now and feed everything through it. Had to change blades one time because missed a nail in the reclaimed wood, but blades are cheap and plentiful online and the extra set that comes with this combo. Used it on a piece of maple that my neighbor cut down, kept a few logs and dried for 1 year and made some nice boxes and trays, and cutting boards. Planar is still going strong.
