I bought it when it was a frontpage deal last week, and it was awful; I already returned it. The directions in the packaging on how to update firmware do not work. It's an older version of CarPlay. The lag when switching songs is 3-4-5 seconds. Using maps had a delay, so if there are turns close together, you're never really sure which one it's talking about if you're passively paying attention. By day 3 or 4 with it, the Bluetooth wasn't reliably connecting when getting into the car. Returned. Back to the cord and smooth operation.

This thing (for me and my VW Alltrack) is great for driving around town and it connects quick and easy.

Only problems

On long car rides, audio quality decreases and sometimes distorts.
When shoveling the car, some times it connects when the car is off but a door gets opened.

For $5, totally worth it.

We've been using this in my wife's 2022 Kia Sorento, it's been pretty reliable. Solid pickup IMHO.

I ordered this last time it was on SD. I'm totally happy with this - pairs easily and works great in my 2021 Equinox. No more cords - true!
Does it play movies

No. CarPlay does not currently support video AirPlay, but such a feature was announced last year and speculation is that it should be released in the very near future. Whether these wireless adapters will support this functionality (with or without a firmware upgrade) is anyone's guess, and it would also require an update on your car's head-unit.

Bought this the last time it was featured. Promptly returned it. It would not work with my vehicle. There was no 'compatibility' info available, so I took a shot

When I got it, I was having trouble getting it to work. In a move that is unlike me, I looked at the instructions. I found a web page that would like the compatible vehicles. Would have been great if that was made available pre-purchase.

These $5 - $10 devices give wireless CarPlay/Android Auto a bad name. Spend a little more ($50 usually) on the CarLinkit 5.0 adapter. It'll last much longer, work much better, and you'll actually get support from the manufacturer. I've bought several (for different cars and for gifts) and they've been fantastic. It's also the only one I've used that you can adjust the audio delay (down to 300 ms).

The delay between switching songs is about 3-4 seconds and some times it doesn't link with my screen and shows a blank screen when engaged in Carplay. I had to unplug the unit and plug it back in to have it work again.

Going to return it and just use my cord.

Does your car have wired CarPlay at all?
