How long can I keep this till activate? If I could have a handful of these $5 sim-kits just in case, when I need service on an extra phone.

Wondering this also. Usually it's like 45 days or something like that, but generally those are sold by the carrier directly so they are able to track the SIM they sent you. Whereas here it's Amazon and I'm wondering if they track them or not.

I just did this offer a couple of weeks ago. My promotional rate with my previous mobile phone carrier was going up significantly, so I have to port out my phone number for a month until I can get back onto a new customer promotion.

When you receive the simcard, you have the option to install the physical simcard or you can download an eSim (preferred method).

For some reason the online activation using eSim didn't work and I needed help with tech support, so that took about an hour start-to-finish to port over my phone line. In the past it's only taken 15-20 minutes to port in my number.

I'm only temporarily doing this as the $25 per month standard rate is way too expensive compared to other promotions going on.

Side note, if I could do this again, instead of Boost, I would have "temporarily" ported over to US Mobile. We did this for a family member and they got 30-day free trial and it was done 100% online. Right now , they have a plan for $5 per month (prepay $60 for an entire year) if you come over from Helium Mobile.
