And for the record all i said was "Often depression due to weight gain is a reason for S.A.D being diagnosed during the winter months."
I wasn't saying anything about it being the reason in this case.
And if people got depressed all year long, it wouldn't be "Seasonal" now would it?
It scares me that you are someday going to be a Dr.
Don't worry, being a pre-med major is far from a guarantee of becoming a doctor.
it just so happens that during winter when people gain a large amount of weight they get depressed.

Seriously?
Im sure you are happy with your primary care physician but trust me being in a hospital for over a year i have met plenty.
And FYI... asshole doctors suck.
Carry on, ill read whatever you want to post when i get back.
I love how they kept going on blaming genes and hormones for weight gain. Almost sympathetic.
Yet for alcoholics who are also plagued with the same things... interesting.
And would i say depression in general is over diagnosed? Depending on who you ask. Yes it is.
Pharmaceutical companies make money just by pushing drugs. So do the psychologists who treat the depression.
Dayum
I actually agree with this, but not entirely. . .it is all about the balance of genetics and environment. And there are definitely genes for addictive personality. . .alcoholics, gamblers, etc.
Need to stop talking about this stuff. . .you have stirred up a hornets nest. . .
The ones that I have met just don't have time for proper bedside manner obviously i would be a lot kinder with patients I was just pointing out they do exist.
Why would I be nice to some bitch on the Internet who thinks they can insult me, I mean I don't care but don't expect me to be nice when it's so easy to get back at them.

Patients aren't always all that easy to be nice to, so might as well start practicing now.

The OP was asking for advice on a medical issue and you come in and say that it's a "BS" diagnosis. You did that because you saw people in here who you wanted to get riled up.
You don't need any more info than what the OP gave so stop with that candy ass excuse that you need history.
Grow up B.
