some good deals. i'm not getting any though. show me a sale on pretty palettes, it will be a different story
Pack that stuff up, get it out of your house! Get your $$ back!
Problem is, now that my box is sealed and ready to go... I'm thinking of more things I should put in it. I have a "maybes" box of bras and box of clothes. They are pretty small... but still- a lot of maybes.
TIA!
i just looked at half.com, and find only buyer protection. i think there really isn't any seller protection in trading places like these. sellers have to protect themselves. i am leaning towards signature confirmation + insurance. it's probably a good investment for ~$100 items. i'm glad i learned the lesson for a relatively very small price.

i have a box packed with vs returns also!! but i just got another order and didn't like it so i have to send that with it... boo. i already taped up the box and have been too lazy to open the box up to add another item.
That would mean I couldn't shop at VS at all.
Quiet day in here but I'm happy to see everyone getting those returns out! I only have like 3 maybes.

I'm happy for you. You will go through a difficult stage when you don't know if you can stay at home & just be a mom. You start to lose your identity & get lonely. That will pass. It's an adjustment that isn't as easy as many think it will be. I've known several women who went back to work, during that difficult stage. They wanted more adult interaction, & missed socializing with work friends. If you make it through that, you'll be happy you stuck it out. We'll be here to listen, when you have a down day.
Thanks Ladies!
DEFINITELY get insurance (and always delivery confirmation) for books even over $50 if you don't want to end up screwed. I sold a $75 textbook (i don't remember if it was half or amazon), shipped it media mail with deliv. confirmation. The girl never got it, it ended up being "lost" in the mail. Luckily the buyer was super nice about it and didn't think *I* was trying to pull anything shady, but I had to open up a Paypal case and also a case with USPS. Before you case will ever be closed with USPS, you'll have to end up refunding the buyer the full amt through Paypal b/c there's only so many days they give you to "resolve" problems. USPS ended up finding the label to my package and mailed it to me with an apology letter (I really think someone at USPS stole the textbook to resell) which was super shady. It took like 90 days for them to confirm it as "lost" and mail me a piece of paper that said I could be refunded my postage only. Since I only had Delivery confirmation and not insurance, I had no claim against USPS. I had to refund the buyer $75 out of my own pocket.
ETA: I was really anal about getting $$ back for my textbooks and often made more $$ than it cost me in the first place (that was also back when B&N used to let you use 25% off Qs on textbooks). I think some of my freshman science books I paid $75-$80 for and sold them for nearly $100.
edit--i'm not sure if insurance is necessary if you get signature confirmation. amazon would most likely side with you if a buyer claims "item not received" but the tracking shows that the package was signed for. for peace of mind and if insurance isn't too costly, i would get it...but it does eat into what you get back.

My box for returns is now packed and sealed. I am sure I can still find items to add to it but the box is completely full so I don't get anymore ideas of what I should have added to it
I don't know if it was not the pact I had with porda when would I actually return those stuffs.

How do you pay shipping label for media mail by PayPal? I could never find it
In our marketing class last semester one guy was saying that the idea of opening site to just buy/sell book within campus is very good and we can save money by that and blah blah blah prof was smart but I think he some how got dumbfounded by that student's idea. I raised the hand and asked a simple question to him- why would I sell my book on your site if I can sell it for more than what I bought it for on eBay
And these are the students of business school we are talking about
That made me think for the first time that 1. We are smart that's why we found SD in the first place (most people still don't go beyond the Macy's coupon they get in mail- hard to believe but it is true) 2. We share knowledge and get smarter by finding better deals and money saving techniques and 3. now we are so used to it that when someone spend without much thought we see them as surprise
