I do not know how I am going to explain this to my GF.
I would point out that using these as 5.1 only would be wasting money because you are paying for those extra built in object based modules(drivers).
You can buy this same towers without the modules(RP-280) for less.
That's one of the good reasons for these great deals popping up often, this same package without the modules may pop up soon 👍🏻
This is technically a 5.1.2. The tower speakers contain an extra set of drivers to "bounce" the atmos effects off the ceiling. That's what the .2 on the end refer to. You can use the towers as a regular 5.1 setup and just not connect the speaker wire to the atmos speaker terminals (there will be 4 total on each tower) as well. Would make for a killer 5.1 setup.

What kind of amplifier would be suitable for this ? Is this is a 5.1 setup ?

Yeap. It is 5.1...u need either a pre/pro or a receiver to run these. Most of the receivers are able to run. Just buy a reputable brand.

I was debating whether to get 440C ($299) or 450C ($399) or 504C ($500). Few got 504C for $450 so waited and missed it
Tell her they fell off the truck.
