Check out the hom assistant notice on TP-Link. They are removing local control in their latest firmware, so Home Assistant can no longer control it. The lights worked amazingly well in HA before, but I don't plan to buy these lights because of the firmware and local control issue.
Here you go! Are you familiar with Kasa's way of labeling their gear? If not, it's a model number, in this case KL125. For a two pack, add P2, so KL125P2. For a 4 pack, P4. Obviously they don't sell everything in multi packs but it does work for plug in dimmers etc.
This only affected European customers. US customers are on a different branch of firmware and are unaffected by this change. But TP-Link did it as a "band aid" solution to a security issue and is working on a fix. A workaround is provided in the link below in the meantime if you are in the EU not US. https://www.home-assistant.io/blo...al-access/

Been changing up lighting in the home and moving to recessed LED lights in most rooms. I can repurpose the same bulb-type Phillips Hue that I have or should I sell them and move to these?
The repurposed use would be in the finished basement (movie and gaming setup) and eventual ceiling fans in some rooms of the house.
Bought these the last SD deal in April. I use them on my exterior garage where I have 3 lights in traditional posts, replaced the old bulbs and popped these babies in. Originally I used the kasa app which wasn't too bad, but eventually moved them to Google home so I can adjust my thermostat and turn on my garage lights in one place. They work great for what I need ( being able to turn on my exterior garage lights from my phone, previously you would have to go into the garage to turn them on and it made them useless.)
These emit a high-pitched buzz. I've tried them in multiple fixtures and with different settings. Some colors buzz less, some more, but they all do. Depending on how close to the bulb you are and how noisy your ambient space is, you may or may not hear it. Personally I wouldn't buy these again.

You can change the color and brightness.
You can have the color temperature change by time of day.
They can't even cycle colors automatically w/o a lot of setup and using third party apps.
Hi can you share how you linked them to home assistant? I tried yesterday and home assistant could not find my kasa devices.

No it won't.
I currently use a Philips Wiz A21 full color LED from Home Depot. It's not Hue compatible but cheaper.
