After their scummy business practice of bundling, never buying from Newegg again.

Decent price, but I am going to guess its because it was a highly demanded cpu many months ago and now not many people need overpriced cpus anymore so they probably have a huge supply they cant sell because people stopped buying them so are forced to drop prices.

Its only $30 off anyways. This should have been a $200-250 cpu anyways.

Not sure you understand how supply and demand works. Supply doesn't dictate pricing. Manufacturers set prices and the demand increases or decreases based on the elasticity of demand. If you can increase prices and the increase in revenue outweighs the reduction in demand, companies will do that.

With that said, bundling in-demand items with stuff nobody wants is not a great way to get people to purchase when other retailers aren't doing that.
Go ahead and tell Newegg that. They're pretty successful so far... Amazon and microcenter do the exact same thing. Tell them you run a billion dollar e-commerce company out of your parents basement too

Not sure what you're on about. Go check Newegg stock versus Amazon and let me know what you find. Newegg is exactly where it was 10 years ago...

I will stick with my trusty AMD 3600 CPU that I purchased last year for $150. This 5600X at $270 is not worth the small increase in speed...

Heck, my 3600 is 9% faster than this 5600X in Fortnite, my favorite game!

5600X at $270=FAIL! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh, regarding NewEgg haters: I have saved over $15,000 over the years from NewEgg just from the rebates alone and they have treated me well on most occasions.

NewEgg haters = ignorance
Interesting how the 5600x outperforms the 3600 in every metric EXCEPT Fortnite. I dunno?

Hadn't thought of this. Thanks. Will mean having to go to the store though I'm guessing?
No store would honor an after-coupon price when doing price match.

Didn't catch that there was a coupon. I feel like they might if you could show them the coupon was applied and discounting the price on your phone. Not sure it's worth my time driving over there for $10 is the thing.

Smart capitalists don't piss off their customers.

Yet revenue is up over 20% over 5 years and the 7th largest electronics ecommerce sales in the US. Apparently doing something right

No. Those are not good numbers. You just don't know better. Newegg is one of the worst performers in the sector, and it's been in long term decline ever since going public.

Does slick deals have a sale or trading forum I can sell for cheap? I don't trust ebay/paypal even with their "protections"

In case you're looking to upgrade from a 1600/2600, those chips are still selling for $75-125 on the 'bay, so consider that value if you're looking at an upgrade. Waiting 3-5 months for the 5600 to drop into $220-230 territory may also be time enough for the older chips to lose a similar amount of value, so your out of pocket net may not be much different even if the new CPU price comes down.

Also, if you have a B450 board and want to do a drop-in replacement (like me), make sure your motherboard mfr has made new firmware for your chipset and get the latest drivers.

I have and the vast majority of the time I am pleased with their service. Same for Target.

Capitalism is one thing, being shady with unnecessarily ridiculous price increases to take advantage of situations is another…

Newegg is now a Chinese company with horrendous turn over and vile culture.

Most awesome thing about capitalism since you brought it up and all is the right to choose purchasing from others who aren't trying to screw the customer.

Can't wait until Newegg changes their ways or is forced out of business.
