Oh, regarding NewEgg haters: I have saved over $15,000 over the years from NewEgg just from the rebates alone and they have treated me well on most occasions.

Also, the resell value of 2700x was decent at the time as well.
It's actually how they have always treated CPUs - they are the one of, if not the only, major online seller who makes you deal with any CPU issues instantly with the manufacturer. You cannot return it. You can't exchange it. If it's cracked in half the second you opened the box, you need to call the maker.

I figure I've waited this long, I'll sit tight a bit longer to see when AMD releases their next socket before making the jump.
Oh, and it will run on about 2/3 the power when fully loaded (~40W continuous / 55W at peak).
A majority of tech reviewers all loved Intel until 2nd/3rd gen AM4 rolled out. And now they performance is comparable to Intel and cost is similar you won't see the prices that were previous generations AM4
Also, if you have a B450 board and want to do a drop-in replacement (like me), make sure your motherboard mfr has made new firmware for your chipset and get the latest drivers.

And userbenchmark has fairly accurate benchmark comparisons and often mimic or are near the more professional sites such as techspot, wepc, anantech, tomshardware, etc.
I found techspots in-depth comparisons of the 5600x and the 3600 shocking...because there was simply not that much of a difference in many of the games they bench-marked...and I am referring specifically to comparisons that did not include the 3090 GPU, but rather more mid range GPU cards...

I really wanted to upgrade to this 5600x, but after reading various benchmarks from various sites, it is totally obvious that at the $270 price, the 5600x is simply not worth it!
