Return it and buy again
Yup, I tried to do the online price adjustment, they said they couldn't apply the student discount that shows up on the original purchase and the current offer. The customer service rep even recommended I return the laptop and pick up another one instead. Seems like more work for everyone....

Can you use the student discount twice on the same account? I don't think so but might be wrong.

I am having hard time with the chat rep.. any tips? they say the student pricing is not going to be eligible for price match
He did not give me hard time at all. I explained 849.99-100= 749.99, my previous order 899.99-100=799.99. And he said I need $50 price matched refund!

I believe so. The student discount is showing up on the current Macbook Air in my cart. I also used it last week.

Yeah. Tell them you'll return the laptop if you don't get the adjustment. Might work for some.

Same. Guess I'm doing a return, already placed an order for a new one as proof of the lower price but the chat rep said no price match. Up to them, seems like a waste to me though. Luckily Best Buy is right next to a Costco gas station so I'll just take one of our cars to fill up and it's a worthwhile trip for me.

Debating this or wait for the MBP refresh. Probably an updated M1 variant in the new MBP but this seems crazy cheap. Mostly do work productivity things like office and web surfing. 🤔
I am on the same boat with you... $750 for a MBA is really hard to pass, but I'm debating on just waiting for the MBP refresh. I'm planning on getting an iMac 24in for work (outlooks, excel, pfd and web surfing) and debating on what I should get for "on the go" work/personal laptop. Want something powerful, but not sure if the M1 on the MBA is the same on the MBP... (same internal/processor), just different exterior and a handful of features??? *shrugs*. Currently have a MBA (2014; barely surviving) and MBP (2017; as main work/personal)...

My understanding is the only difference this gen is MBP has a fan and the touch bar , MBA doesn't. Thermal videos show a few degrees Celsius difference under stress tests and benchmarks but not really significant. M1 runs really cool and external temps on both units never got over 40* Celsius from what I saw.

Edit: Everything I've seen has said MBA is the better purchase this Gen unless you do photo editing or want Touch Bar.
