I think Pro provides hw 4k upscaling too. For those who like that feature
I would get the pro version if you need to have any apps running in the background. If not, then this one is good for you. Some IPTV services need a secondary app running in the background. If that's the case for you, go with the Pro.
Fair warning tho, this one only comes with a SD card slot, and my Shield used up space pretty quick on just apps
