Yeah no... These are always listed as $79. Many got this battery for $35 using the sprayer hack in another thread as well.

Well ... Per this one in depth review the HP batteries aren't all they are claimed to be. While they give you longer runtimes, they don't always give you the power they claim. In my books it doesn't justify the premium unless you are a hardcore daily user of these batteries and runtime matters. The 2 4ah non HP for $35 beats the $100 HP any day.

No need to be sorry. You tried and we all appreciate it. Everyone gets a start somewhere. I just want you to know that a LOT of these Ryobi deals MSRP are outrageous and the best thing to do is look at other posts from the past to get a legit idea of what would make a good deal. Keep on posting!

That is not true. Try a longitudinal cut of wood or cross cut thicker wood using a brushless circular saw. The 3Ah HP battery beat the 4Ah non HP battery by a huge difference in performance. Not only the HP battery makes more cross cut, the non HP battery cannot make a longitudinal cut. This guy on Youtube above is not testing it right.
The video below is comparing non-HP 4Ah with HP 6Ah in longitudinal cuts. I did the same test with 4Ah non HP vs 3Ah HP and I got the same result that HP battery performs much much better.

By using a non-HP battery, it is a waste on the cost for brushless tools.

After all, the HP battery does not worth double the price (and it isn't). A 20% or so premium is reasonable. I got a starter kit with 2x 4Ah HP batteries with charger and tool bag for less than $60 and a 9Ah HP battery for ~$55 within the last couple years.

This actually is a great deal. Depending on your location, the regular price was always I believe $168 for the batteries.
I was able to circumvent this price to $79, but I always had to change the location to a Home Depot halfway across the country.

Now that's it's on sale everywhere, I can pick up a pair locally and I won't have to wait for shipping.
Thank you OP.

I disagree, that video shows the HP batts are exactly what they claim and owning several regular, Lithium+ and HP packs over the last 6 years I can tell you that not only do the better HP/Lithium+ packs provide extra punch they last longer in the tool and in overall longevity as well - likely because the cells are of higher quality to support the extra current delivery. I haven't had any HP-style packs die yet, but my Lithium+ packs have gotten roughly twice the life (in years) of the cheap packs even with more cycles on them.

Also, the difference for two with the deal is $20 right now, not $35.
