I had this and it kept disconnecting every 3 hours with lastest firmware. Updated to Merlin and it disconnected once a week. Returned and bought the AX82U. Been up since. Main difference is no Merlin support and 2x 2.4Ghz, 4x 5Ghz vs 3x 2.4Ghz, 3x 5Ghz. Don't recommend.

Similar expirence with the ax55, "downgraded" to an AC68U and it is much more stable. It's not the product in this post, just giving another datapoint on these "budget" Asus AX routers.

Dido. Annoying as hell. Don't want to drive 100+ miles one way to return mine. My 9 yrs old AC68 works better than shitty router.

Same. My TM-AC1800 was much more stable. Have the AX68 and it's given me a lot of issues. Put Merlin on it, and it's better - but still not as good as the AC68.

No 160Hz band. Does that matter in the real world? I've been looking at the Asus AX-3000 for a while. That has 160Hz but is only 2x2, not 3x3 like this one…

I have a giga plan and a wired backhaul for every room in my house so I'm thinking about XD6 dual-band with wired is better than XT8.
