This router is supported by Asus Merlin, and it will continue to get updates there if you want to switch to it.

I'm currently running a mesh system of AX58u's on Merlin, and it works great. This is very temping for the price.

This is a great router, I have been using it for the last 2 years. Great wifi coverage, speeds and the best LAN speeds over ethernet. I get Gb speeds transferring files across my LAN using this router(112MB/s), far better than any other router I have used. They do continue to release new firmware for it

I picked up my first Asus router about 6 weeks ago, the AX88U PRO and so far I am very impressed! This thing is smoking fast and I love the Admin interface. I may pick up 2-3 of these AX68U's and add them as mesh nodes, that is a crazy good price, thanks OP!

Wow..GREAT deal..I've had one of these for about 6 months and of all the Asus routers I've owned, its by far the best. Speedy, great range and cool to the touch as well. The only caveat is there hasn't been a firmware update since Dec though its not really needed since the last one is rock solid

This is a great router when it works. I really like the combination of price, range and speed, but I've now been through 7 of these via a mixture of returns and warranty claims over a 2 year span. Most of them have had the 5Ghz band die on me out of nowhere after months of use.

The issue will present as a solid connection, but no internet connectivity and attempting to accessing the router's configuration page times out. The 2.4Ghz band continues to work and everything is resolved only for a few hours/days following a power cycle. The router sits in a large open room, but it could still be a heat issue.

At this point, I hate to lose the $100 and again, it works great when it's working, but I part of me wishes I'd gone with the ax86u and just hoped for the best.
