Keep in mind that most motherboard's QVL lists are not updated after a certain point and is often questionably accurate or complete in the first place. There's just not enough profit in it for them.

But that's not about practicality, it's about insecurity and materialism and being able to show off your wealth (or fake wealth) to others. Very few people will ever see the hardware in your computer, unless you intentionally go out of your way to show it to people.

You'll need a top tier CPU to take advantage of the memory speed in most cases, same with a good motherboard. I have 4k ram but I can't get all that speed out of it, even with an R9 5900. I think I need to upgrade my motherboard.

I got lucky and got some from Best Buy but it's...not that great. Not yet anyway. I got the DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 5200MHz C38 Memory Kit and it barely outperforms the 3200 DDR4 I had. DDR5 will need a year or two to mature.
