I have a dell inspiron i7, better screen most likely, and better build quality on order for $550 or so, but this is really, really cheap. I never move my laptop so we'll see if this one fits the bill.

decent review: https://www.cnet.com/tech/computi...p-returns/

This vid review recommends getting into the bios to up the performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YuJso34l30

But i think we agree that the specs and performance for the price aren't the problem....

On the fence vs. Target new HP for $276 (HP 14" Laptop with Windows Home in S mode - Intel Core i3 11th Gen Processor - 4GB RAM Memory - 128GB SSD Storage - Silver (14-dq2031tg)).

I can't decide...this for $338 or the Target deal for $276 ($62 diff). Bought and can return to Walmart after running through its paces i guess.
Target one is lighter at 3.24 lbs.

In for one. Thanks OP. Also, notice Walmart's return policy is only 30 days, but at least it starts on 12/26...

In depth notebook check review
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Wal...404.0.html

Dim 200 nits IPS display. Soldered RAM with slow timings. There is a second M.2 2280 SATA slot inside. It runs very quiet 31 dB with up to 9 hour battery life and low power consumption. Xe 80EU graphics are decent, equal to GT 1030 or Vega 7.

I think the models with the 11th gen processors (this one) are supposed to be able to charge over USB C up to 45 watts. Can't test this, but there were some comments about it on $399 deal
Evo platform 11th gen, yes, but to be an Evo model you also need to have thunderbolt.

Vipoutlet sucks… I placed 2 different orders. Both were cancelled by them. It took a additional 2 weeks to refund me for their errors….

I would not recommend running Windows 10 on 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will be extremely slow and 128GB will fill up fast.

Good point...i have 16GB lying around that i was going to swap out for the Target lappy. Can't run a PC with the lazy way I open dozens of tabs, so 16GB is the min for me... my main concern is durability/reliability. At this price point, i figure there's lots of compromises; a 128GB storage is no problem because i have usb hard drives up the wazoo. this is more a backup / kid laptop than anything. The target laptop I was referencing was a BF special available at Target for local pickup only (https://slickdeals.net/f/15423058-hp-14-laptop-with-windows-10-home-in-s-mode-intel-core-i3-11th-gen-processor-4gb-ram-memory-128gb-ssd-storage-silver-14-dq2031tg-target-269-99?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1)...have to drive 30 min to get mine. Would rather keep this one over the lesser powered HP, but being Gateway and potentially iffy reliability makes me wonder if it's worth it.

I wish the hard drive is NVME type. SSD is slow nowadays? Pass.

I'm not talking about the Evo spec but rather the fact there are 2 variants of this exact laptop and the 11th gen processor variant supposedly supports charging through USB C, where the 10th gen processor variant doesn't.
