PCIe is the interface, M.2 is the connector. It uses PCI express lanes, but an M.2 pin plug. This is to clarify that it is not an M.2 SATA drive which uses the M.2 plug with a SATA interface (much slower).

Why is it PCIe interface? M.2 equals PCIe? Confusing

Is there any PCIe enclosure on Amazon? I plan to use as usb 3 drive
What does that even mean? Is it something specific to the review site? I didn't click the link.
This SSD is perfectly fine for 90%+ of people's computer use. It's probably overkill for most people really but I don't know of many good 1tb SSD that are much cheaper.
I have had a 2tb Intel 660p drive for a few years now. No problems. I use it for a Steam library drive. Not sure what the difference between the 660 and 670 series is, but again my 660p 2 tb has been great!
I'm behind the times with nvme since I just have systems with SATA SSDs right now. I'm familiar with cloning sata to sata HDD or SSD, but are there things I need to know about nvme cloning for boot drive? Ordered a PC w/ 512 primary nvme and may go ahead to replace with 1tb, unless it's got slots for 2nd nvme. What software did you use? TIA

Cloned the new WD 750 SE and it is perfect in everyway.
Those deals are gone for now and this looks intteresting!

Yep. I just upgraded from my 1TB 660P, but there was nothing wrong with it. Not even sure if I notice a difference in speed. Sold the 660P on eBay for 65 bucks.

Pretty good deal, also Intel is the only SSD manufacturer that has never swapped components to less quality ones after reviews/launch, everyone else Samsung, Crucial, WD, etc have done bait and switch by shipping worse quality SSD's under the same model name.

Well, to be fair, it's not like Intel could downgrade the flash on the drive, since it's already bottom-of-the barrel QLC. Sure, with the use of SLC caching and DRAM, Intel can polish this turd up and make it shine under ideal conditions. But at the end of the day, it's a QLC drive that is being sold at TLC prices.
Also, Intel is looking to get out of the SSD business. They're in talks to sell off their NAND division to SK hynix.

Someone posted Macrium Reflect Free. I second this. An hour ago I cloned my almost full boot nvme drive (512 GB) to a 1 TB nvme drive. It took about 20 minutes and worked perfectly. I even dual boot my computer (Windows 11 and Ubuntu) and that works as expected. All I had to do after cloning was swap out the drives and then extend the partition using Disk Management so I'd have the full 1 TB.

I just picked one out of many found via searching for "m2 pcie enclosure"
Seems its a 4.0 and not a 4x4. Confusing?????
