BB will exchange it, no questions asked. They will also setup a time to drop off the new one and take the old one away at no charge.
Thanks, yeah I think that's what I'm gonna do. If it wasn't brand new, I wouldn't mind it so much...Do I need to worry about re-boxing up the TV? I kinda threw away/destroyed some of the packaging.

That aside, I gotta say this TV looks amazing. One of the main knocks on Rtings was the viewing angles, but honestly they're not that bad. Great brightness and contrast, upscales lower resolution content and handles fast-moving scenes very well and reflections aren't bad.

I threw mine away, so I was worried about them giving me a hard time too, but the kid behind the counter said 'we don't care about the box'.

The R646 is one of the brightest TVs out there according to rtings.com. This is my primary interest in this tv for my bright office and living room.
It also has good contrast ratings.
Many issues with panels but you can't get this brightness anywhere near this price
It's REALLY is bright. I can't compare it to similar TVs, but it is squint your eyes blazing hot bright compared to the Samsung Plasma it was replacing for me. I like that, but there are plenty of setting to turn the brightness down if somebody isn't looking for that.

U8g is brighter in smaller HDR though not sure if that affects longevity

This r646 is like having a bright phone screen as a big TV

Hmm. I have the HiSense 65U6GR (HDMI 2.1, 60hz) ordered for delivery later on. I have a PS5 but honestly I don't think the 120hz matters much since I play mostly single-player. It'd be important mostly for FPS multiplayer. Most AAA titles that aren't multiplayer will be 4k60 locked for best graphics.

Is it stupid to buy a TV meant to last through the PS5's lifecycle that doesn't support 4k120?
Get this TV. More games will take advantage of the 4K@120.

There are 4 hdmi ports, what are you talking about.
He probably got confused because there are two "High Spec" 120Mhz HDR etc ports and two regular ones.

nice tv, can't stand the google platform on tvs though, prefer the simpler/cleaner roku style.
Modern Google TV's have a "Basic TV" option during setup if you don't want to use Google TV OS. It's still "Google TV" just basic. Big Grin

Aside from the solid reviews, and the fact I don't care about the OS as we stream from other devices, one of the main draws for me with this TV is its ability to handle next Gen gaming in a panel a step down from OLED. With kids, I worried about burn-in and know we need to wait until they are older before moving to the best TV category for mixed use

I also picked up the 65" version of this TV on BF. Unfortunately when I turned it on there was a small black dot towards the bottom of the screen (about 1mm in diameter), where it appears that one or more the mini-LEDs is burned out. It looks like a bug on the screen or a piece of dirt or a small shadow.

Question is: do I return/exchange it (can do so through Jan 16) or just leave it? It was a huge pain to get it home from the store. I'm thinking of maybe buying the Geek Squad Protection, and then after a couple of years (after the TCL warranty expires) asking them to fix it and possibly get a new TV out of it...
Just beware that under the return policy, BestBuy would only return the TV during the return window, then you would need to buy the TV at whatever the price is at the moment. They not exchange it for another TV.

I have the 75 inch version.. it is an amazing tv.. bright and colorful.. the blacks are pretty impressively black.. don't see why we'd need to spend way more for OLED.. hopefully it lasts for a while.. I use my Roku with it so have ignored the much complained about Android tv integration..
