I've read the first two WoT books and watched it, really didn't seem that woke to me. It might seem that way to people who haven't read the book but from what I remember it's sticking fairly close to the source material.

Not suggesting you shouldn't hold out for a better price, especially if you already have them from a previous release, only that I think this is a fair price and you may be waiting a long time.

If there are 2 versions of each movie, why 9 discs? Is it 3 versions? Disc Release, Theater Release and Extended Edition? Or is there a bonus material disc for each movie?

Nevermind - looking closer at the pic, the extended versions are spread out on 2 discs.

No Tom Bombadil, no Glorfindel, no Shire ending, etc. Extendeds are a waste of time and only has garbage that didn't happen in the books like Gandalf getting his staff shattered and screaming like a little kid.

THanks to the contributors in this thread, I learned this 4K EE does not include any extras (appendices), just extended and theatrical versions of the 3 movies on disc.
THough I guess there are some extras sprinkled in on the digital versions depending on platform....
In any case, NOT a good deal to me at this price or even $40
