I notice in the picture what look like little brackets to fill the extra space between the unit and the window frame at the bottom when the window is closed. Does it come with these or is this something they made for the picture?

Anyone know the starting and running amps

Edit: Midea website shows

Cooling Watts
710W
Rated Cooling Amps (AHAM)
8.78

But not sure of starting amps?

I bought the same units under Costco's Danby brand. These are very nice with smart wifi controls and maximize my schedule and everything. It's a lot quieter than other unit but definitely some low level of noise compared to minisplit which mostly are heat pumps that give you heat as well in the winter times.

There is one thing is that this is not sound proof that outside noises will still come in a bit imaging only a layer of area connect open to outside.

I purchased this a few weeks ago. They will not price adjust it even though I can still return it.

I wish Costco would carry one of these U-shaped ACs so I'd have more peace of mind about returning it.

Yeah I noticed that too just a few minutes ago, it still seems to work on the website but not in the app for me. I ordered it now because I don't trust that home Depot won't just pull it got some reason.

$250.79

Limit 2 per order

$358.28

Save $107.49 (30%)

Special Buy ends in 6days : 16hrs : 50mins

Shop All Pro Special Buy of the Week

That's what the link shows for me. And not a bad idea to pick up in store. Mine arrived fine, but I can see problems with some drivers maybe.
What's the zip code where it's showing $250.79?

In NJ, the LINK in the OP's post (ETA) goes directly to the Midea AC page and shows $359.00. I went to my E-Mail for the regularly scheduled Home Depot Ad and if you click on 'Special Buy' it initially looks like just "Cordless Power Tool Kits" but when you scroll down to:
"Pro Special Buy Of The Week Up to $300 Off Water Heaters, HVAC and Appliances" (Ends in 6 days...)
and continue to scroll through the HVAC items, you find this Midea AC, which is the *ONLY* item WITHOUT a "Sale Price $XXX.XX / Originally $YYY.YY" (screen print attached)

Seems like once Amazon matched HDs price, HD cancelled their sale on this one item?!?

Thanks for this. I WANT all of the noise. Is there a way to make it loud inside? Like turning up the fan or something? I'd just be wanting it for the U shape that'd be a lot nicer than all of the tape and plastic crap keeping my current unit in the window.
Lol just get a white noise machine or box fan for $20, will use much less energy for simple noise generation

Damn you're right, I see the full price on the website now too 😔I thought they may be pulling it, glad I ordered it before they did and hope some others did too.. sorry about that.

Special buy available for 7 DAYS! Jkjk changed our minds after a few hours.. Maybe it's some glitch and will come back, weird that it still says special buy but shows full price.

edit: looks to be back to the sale price now.

Looks like this is a price match of this Home Depot special buy, good for the next 7 days: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Midea.../315241074

Another option!

I think Home Depot's return policy is 90 days vs Amazon for this says "returnable until January 31st". Also could be beneficial to pick up in store because of the risk of damage during residential shipment.
This must be YMMV because I still show the special buy, but others don't.

Don't know about starting amps, should have soft start, but this modulates between 2k BTU - 8k so running watts on 2k BTU are only 140-200W. Another report says that 8k BTU on kill-a-watt shows 450-500W
