Be forewarned! I bought this unit weeks ago from Walmart. Had a problem and contacted Hisense about it since Walmart was out of stock. Hisense refused any kind of warranty claim by saying that Walmart is NOT an authorized dealer of their products, only Lowes and Costco are valid retailers. Be aware of this glitch!
Walmart's inventory system is powered by two hamsters on an exercise wheel.
Actually only Lowes is an official retailer. Costco is not listed on their website for this product.
It has a drain but it does evaporate most of it. I've had to drain when humidity is over 60% since it can't evaporate all of it and eventually fills tray and drips on floor. Low Humidity areas no need to drain

Does it have a pump or do you have to tilt it and drain into a bathtub or outside?
Torn on this. Need something like this to run off my generator during hurricane season ๐ค ๐ค
I had one of these portable units. When the entire unit is inside your room, its loud. I was thinking about going the "ductless mini-split" route. I wound up getting a Midea U Inverter. Best decision i could have made. Its super quiet b/c the compressor is outside the window, and the install is much easier than a ductless mini split unit. I still have my Portable unit in my attic collecting dust. I do not miss how stupidly loud it was.

Thanks for the input! Is the install on the Midea easy enough to not keep it installed year round?

kind of sounds like a CoS (Crock of Shit) put-off line just to make you go away,
Sorry you don't believe this message. Call them and ask and you will find out for sure. They do not cover any warranty at all for this unit from Walmart. Just trying to save anyone from a bad misstep since I learned the hard way. Fortunately I was able to repackage this and take it back to a Walmart for a refund. Yes, I came out smelling like a rose in the end but it was a very troublesome and cost me much hassle and wasted time. This warranty situation is why Walmart can sell this at half the cost of the authorized dealer, Lowes.

They weren't saying they didn't beleive you, they were saying it was a bs line from hisense, to get you to go away.

I'm so sorry that I misunderstood your original comment. I thought it was directed at me rather than for me. I apologize. Hisense flatly refused to honor any part of their posted warranty due to an "unauthorized retailer" purchase. You know, I'll never give Hisense my business again for anything they market.

Mini splits are much better for both. Much quieter too. They're more expensive though and harder to install.

Unscrew plug on back then tilt and drain. I use a cookie sheet. It doesn't hold much water

Last time I went to Lowes they told me they no longer carry portable AC units. LOL (At least not in store)
