I got this set at the start of pandemic so they were pretty expensive at the time $299, they held up pretty well and I still use it
I've had this for several years and it's still holding up well
Had this a long time ago, was a great starter for a home gym, held up well for the 5 years I had it before upgrading; for the majority of people this and a 300 or so pound weight set is all you will need.

Recommendation on a bar and weights to match with this for a teenager to get started?
Dick's has probably one of the cheapest full sets of new weights in stock right now. $350 for the Welder set in my area. You can probably get 10% off that by signing up for their newsletter.
Edit: Walmart might have this set for $345. Still cheaper at Dick's with the coupon though.
I've owned this for probably about 5 years now. Only issue I've come across is the tack weld for the hinge for the back plate on the bench is starting to weaken, quick MIG bead across it did the trick. Definitely the stongest part of the whole thing now lol. Guess Joe shmo could JB weld it to similar effect.
Anyone have it or recommend to have it outdoor? I'm in southern California so rare to get rain, but would cover it up if needed.
I had an old bench chair I bought from walmart like a year and it started to rust a little when I have it outside. The bench gets a little sunlight from like the afternoon time. I think as long as the bench is out of the sun and rain, it should be fine, but best to cover it to prevent dust
If you can get used plates on Facebook market place, offer up, etc. Or if you dont want to go through the hassle just order from basic iron places on "rep fitness" I don't know if they're is any cheaper alternative with good quality but thats what I did. And for barbell just get any 45 lb, 7 foot long barbell on Amazon with good reviews and can hold a good amount of weight.
Second this. Rep Fitness will get you the cheapest new cast iron that's decent quality. The Xmark Crowbar is a good alternative for a barbell at ~180 or get a basic one on Amazon.
This is a great price. I bought this back in 2015 for $150.
Two things to be aware of:
1. The bench height is 3-4" taller than typical benches, this can cause issues with getting leg drive when bench pressing
2. The safety bars are pretty short and the height may not be where you need them
I still use the bench regularly but have upgraded to a full cage since I lift alone at home
I noticed #1 as well. I almost feel like I need blocks for rest my feet on as someone who is 6 feet tall. Sometimes I tend to rest the on the legs of the front of the bench, but that is kinda awkward.
I recently bought it and found it's not stable and move around. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
I saw a video review of where the angle adjustment on the bench is basically a hinged brace with a flat edge that fits into flat slots on a diagonal cross-piece, which they said makes the bench a little wobbly. https://youtu.be/zYkDSO2JHKA?t=181
Is this what you are talking about, the rack, or stability in general? Thank you
Does the minimum job but not great quality. Mine was bended out of the box and after puting the wight on it it got bended even more but I am still using it. Got ot for the same price
I'm looking for a low cost adjustable bench for dumbbell work. I've got no room for the squat rack or barbells in this deal... does anybody have a suggestion for a standalone bench? Amazon, Walmart, and Dick's have so many listings I have no idea which are good deals.
I went with this one on Amazon strictly because of having limited space as well. My 10x10 room functions as an office, guest bedroom and my gym so space is a priority. Folds up perfect and is sturdy even with 200lbs of weights plus my 190lbs of body weight. Some reviews were mixed but I haven't had any issues with it and would recommend.

You want to have the safety bars, especially if buying it for a teenager.
The additional $200+ for the cage is worth the life insurance.
Weights that are good enough:

Get a fitness reality power cage instead. It's much safer to lift in a cage especially when starting.
I'm a big fan of Titan Fitness and recommend their budget friendly barbell
