If you get out Crystal diskmark you'll see that having a heatsink improves transfer speeds in all brands because it avoids thermal throttling. I exclusively buy Samsung drives and have seen it plenty on 970, 970 Evo plus and an older oem model pm651 I believe. Samsung is reliable and heatsinks aren't needed for integrity, but some brands like WD with older firmware actually fail their current tasks when they get too hot. My recollection is that they fixed it later with firmware updates that throttle the drive. So without question a heatsink is best if you have room inside your case and or laptop.
Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high prices because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.
I would buy elsewhere...
