In-the-door water/ice takes up a ton of interior fridge space, especially on a French door style. I had a fridge like this for a month in an airbnb and I was totally fine with in-the-door water/in-freezer ice.

I have had this for three years. No issues whatsoever, aside from the freezer light being a little finicky. Inside water isn't ideal, but it's nice when we want cold water instead of our reverse osmosis spout at the sink.
