Just do yourself a favor and buy the kids edition for only $10 more. Comes with extra year warranty, Kindle cover ($30 value), and no ads... Less added value if you're eligible for the extra 15% off and $15 credit on the regular Paperwhite though.

It's sad that it all depends on who you get when you call in/chat. I've had mostly good experiences, but I'm always a little anxious and keeping my fingers crossed before calling in. A company like Amazon should offer more consistent customer service (especially after raising their Prime membership fees) to everyone.

Trading in my old kindle keyboard 3g, used the 15% off + $15 ebook credit coupon, stacked with the 20% off for trading my Device. Was $68 after trade in and tax. My old kindle can't even charge anymore. I'm guessing the 20% off was immediate because the kindle was linked to my account.

Maybe not from the previous version, but if you have an older kindle like I did, this is definitely the one you want to upgrade to. For me, USB-C charging was the most important feature. The bigger size is nice, it's fast, and the battery life is so good you can forget about it for weeks (maybe even a couple of months). Because the battery life is so good, I couldn't justify paying more for the signature version with wireless charging.
