"Ball end heads are ideal for areas that are hard to reach.
The ball end makes it easier to slide the key into the receiving slot.
It allows you to reach at an offset 30 degree angle so that you can feel your way to the needed position much faster - great for blind or difficult areas to reach or if the bolt or screw is close to an obstruction on one side."

Grabbed a set for $5.00 in store a while ago and they're pretty decent. I never found them for the $2.00 clearance price.
.
These were a $1 on clearance on one rack, but had two different sets mixed in.... one had ball end on the long shaft and one had straight end. The short shaft on all was straight. The manager said he had five pallets of clearance items in the back, but brings them out slowly to that one clearance rack so the store does not look like it is having a yard sale and blocking the aisles to be written up for. Everything in that store has a specific spot to be that seems to change from time to time.... like in the freezer section.

At least you get things on actual clearance. My local store marks things clearance about 5% off normal price like its such a good deal. The same items been on the clearance aisle for 2 months. Once I ran into an employee who was stocking the clearance aisle and saw me browsing, she asked me what I was interested in, I said at these prices, nothing. She said her store manager wouldn't authorize any lower. No wonder the same garbage been there for months. An entire aisle top to bottom both sides of junk.

That is where Brickseek comes into play. With multiple stores about the same driving distance, some will have the deal, some better than posted on here, while others, like your store, try to maximize their sales. You want the best deal and some store managers do not want to lose money if they don't have to.... that cuts into their bonus.
For certain, when a deal is posted here that is populated by dozens of other deal sites, the clock is ticking.

I wouldn't use the ball end for final torquing or breaking loose a bolt. I've stripped my share of heads doing that, but they're great otherwise. Use em a ton on my bikes.
I got these at holiday clearance. The wrenches are good and a nice assortment.. the hindge between the two sets is flimsy and snapped pretty much immediately, but not a big deal.

You just gave me an idea for my next 3D print. Thanks!
Guess that is one reason I haven't purchased anything online with Walmart the last few months.

It sucks that they no longer allow ship to store for free (at least that I've seen). Oh well, there's other places to shop thankfully.
