You'll still need a 3-way switch but you don't need to convert both of them, just one of them can be smart and it will still work fine.
Deal breaker or a feature for some, depending on your use scenario.
FYI
"Q: Can you turn off the light status ring on the switch? In my bedroom I don't like any light coming from anything when the lights are off."
"A: No; however, we appreciate your interest and feedback in this type of feature and we will share it with our Kasa team."

I thought it almost always at this price. I purchased all of mine this price.
BTW….anyone know why Amazon charges tax on the full price, not the after coupon price? That seems sketchy. I wonder if they are taking the difference into their profits.
(Which is one reason why it p*sses me off when they do coupons instead of just selling the da*n item at the lower price, because my state does the same thing, and I'm paying more than I need to because stupid reasons.)

If I were to do an Amazon special return it would be free. But from kasa for a warranty replacement you pay to return ship the item, then they pay to send a new one to you after they verify it's defective.
I installed 2 switches for the fan in my family room. One switch turns the light on and off, the other switch turns the fan on and off. I rarely change the speed of my fan so on is all I really need.
