I take this back. Done some researches, and turned out VA panel is indeed better than IPS panel for Coders, due to much higher contrast (text display) and deeper black (no light bleed), so would be much better for using dark themes in dark room. Big Grin
Main advantages of IPS screen is that they are better for fast moving object (i.e., when playing action video games...), but I hardly play these days...
And finally, this is Samsung VA. Many folks said it is much better than other brands.
At this price, it's a no brainer for me. In 4 1. Thanks, OP!

I believe they're referring to it not being curved so you might have to pivot your eyes and head a bit to see shift your view from the left extent of the screen to the right extent of the screen and vice versa. I personally have this monitor and don't have an issue with it being flat. I think the strain and head movement issue isn't relevant to everyone because everyone does different types of work /gaming on their computer screens.
Decent price. VA panel though.
Wished it was IPS panel...

I bought this a few months ago for WFH desk. Definitely put on a vesa mount. 75hz is only through DisplayPort. I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable to fit my work laptop. It's great for this price.

Just bought that 35 inch from Costco few days back...worth taking this over that to save some money? Only noticeable differ3nce is LG is 100 hz only by displayport and curved and 1 inch more in size...
The Costco one is height adjustable

Is this good for the Xbox series s

I use this monitor for series s. The xbox uses the center part of the screen, so the full ultra wide isn't used, just the normal aspect ratio. But it looks good and isn't stretched. I think it works great but I'm not a professional gamer or anything.

Being flat is actually helpful to me as it keeps things in correct perspective when doing design work

I love that Slickdeals is pushing its Walmart affiliate link by saying it's cheaper than samsung.com. It's showing only $2.99 more there, but you can get 5% cash back + 2% back in samsung rewards points, and much better support since you're buying from the manufacturer. But go ahead and have fun getting your cracked monitors delivered from Walmart.

VA panel, you will see darkness of banding when you move around. Not good for photo and video edits, but for normal stuff OK.
For most people's photo and video editing, it's perfect. The color accuracy is great.

If you're working for Pixar you're not going to be buying a $250 monitor. You will be buying a $2,000 monitor to go along with your $5,000 desktop PC (you'll probably be spending more than this to be honest).

I would love to have something like this but my employer locks the laptops completely down. Hard to use a big screen when you can't use any software to make split screening easy. I finally just bought a cheap second 24" inch monitor to use with my Dell 34". Of course moving between screens can be challenging since the cursor doesn't line up between the 2 since they are different resolutions.

Anyone used to using multiple monitors will know this is a non issue. It is just an elitest gamer troll comment. Curved screens still require head or eye movement, it is just that the focal distance is more consistent. When gaming, the curved monitor can provide a more imersive experience. But really need 3 monitors or an ultra wide aspect 40+ monitor to get the immersion.

TLDR just ignore him

I have one for the office. Picture is awful compared to my 34" CF391 that I use for home but it's the only ultrawide I know that has vesa mounting separate from the mount. This is important for us because we use vesa mountable mini pcs for my office. Otherwise, it gets the job done.

Thanks OP, ordering two.

I got my new 40" monitor last week. Resolution is 5K x 2K and my curve monitor is not aggressive. I get use to it right away.

I have a 43" monitor before that is none curve. I hate that I cannot see any of the side bar on the Windows and I have to move my my body L and R, not just my head.

Now I appreciate curve monitor!

I think eye straining due to being so up close to a monitor this size 😉

FYI! not everyone here is a gamer. Millions of us still use a 1080p screen with a 60hz refresh rate at work and we are doing fine. Neck strain has nothing to do with the refresh rate of the monitor
