Probably won't get much lower. New gen coming out in Q4, so it will hit a low between now and September at the latest, then it will start going back up.

While I can't predict the future, this would follow the trend that has occurred for the last 10-15 years at least.

man, I love this processor! it blazes through my photo editing and video editing workflow! I have it paired with a regular 3080.

I paid around $560 for this processor back in the day and don't regret it one bit.

same here. I paid $550 last summer I believe. great processor low heat high power and I will not feel under equipped in terms of cpu until at least 2025. I can easily afford to buy a new cpu but I will not because I don't anticipate feeling a desire or need to.

now that gtx 1080, though... it's like the i5-2500k of gpus... works so well you don't want to upgrade even though it's an old geezer...

yeah, that 1080 has to go. Smilie I had to go with my 1080 forever because gpu prices were so crazy because of crypto and the pandemic. But I recently got the 3080 near msrp and was ecstatic. my 1080 still loves on in my secondary desktop.
