1. multi threaded applications for obvious reasons, 24 threads
2. heat - cores are spread over two ccx so you don't have everything in one
3. plus a bunch of other things but those are the two main ones why I really enjoy my 5900x

of course, it gets plowed under for all other aspects like multi threaded work, heat, etc. but who cares you are ohnly caring about gaming. besides its not like it won't be able to do those things, just like at 70% of what intel flagships can.
