Consumer reports data actually shows that TVs in the same price band have very similar reliability. Meaning if you buy an $800 Hisense vs an $800 Samsung (or whatever brand) the reliability is pretty much the same.

Your analogy of stepping up to an S class is true. If you bought this tv compared to a $2000 Samsung, the Samsung would likely last longer. But if you bought this tv compared to a $500 Samsung, the Hisense would likely last longer.

It's all about the price point, not brand necessarily.

Just got the Hisense 75u7g 10 days ago for $170 more than it is right now. Does Amazon do a post purchase adjustment?

Yeah that's just annoying. I mean I can return it for free and re order it and save 170$ in the process. Won't be doing it, but I feel they should be matching within the return window.

Lol they didn't even want to match Dune when it was a dollar cheaper than what I bought it at. It hadn't even shipped.

Great TV. I got it the 65" version 6 months ago for $900 and I couldn't be happier with the picture quality. The Rtings review listed above is a great source of information and it also provides a link to fine tune the picture quality. The only thing I've had time to play around with is the 120hz 4k input and the TV does deliver incredible picture without motion blur or any issues. Only one caveat: Make sure you hook up your PC via HDMI to check for sound problems. Mine has an issue where the sound via HDMI gets distorted at random and it's a pain to deal with. I haven't had the time to find a fix or workaround but the issue is there: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hisense/...istortion/

Great deal. I paid like $1200 when this thing first came out. Use it every day. It's probably the best cheap 65" you can get.
