AX55 is the redesign of the AX50 which had overheating issues cause of the hard plastic cases it was using with very little ventilation same for the X20 that got replaced with the X21. If thats your price range the AX55 is the clear winner out of the 3 and compared to Eero Pro Mesh it out performs it pretty significantly. Most reviewers who tested the AX55 were able to get up close top speeds of around 750Mbps while the Eero Pro struggles to go over 500Mbps in most reviews I seen. Then you have the range factor, this will send a signal further cause of the external antenna design over the eeros internal.

I'm trying to find a good option for a house that would also reach a detached garage/building. For that type of criteria would you still recommend the single unit AX55 over the 3 pack mesh X20?

If pure coverage is the important factor, than the X20 is the choice. Though on a far away node you probably wont get speeds above 200-300Mbps just being realistic, unless you plan to hard wire the nodes.

How does it compare to CCC?
It's superior. More detail and fining tuning. Possibly more history as well, as it remained up for the lengthy period when CCC was down.

what differentiates that from the CCC (Camel x3) chrome extension?
More detail, better alerts, and longer history I believe, and has an Android app. CCC was down for quite some time, whereas Keep@ was not.

All the latest mesh system and routers in the last 2 years are all getting frequent firmware updates, so they are doing a lot better than they were in the past.

That's just not true at all. My Deco X20 bought from Amazon last prime day is up to date on firmware 1.5.1 20210204
That longer number is the date the firmware was last updated. Disappointing to not get an update in over a year on something only released in 2020.

How does Deco X20 compare with Nighthawk MK62? MK62 is on sale as well for same price $170.

Yes at the price difference currently its a little harder to justify but like i said it reguarily goes on sale at Costco for cheaper here are the big main differences.

First off course one is AX1800 while the other is AX3000 which means more overall throughput.

Design wise while both get great range per puck the X60 has 4 internal antennas compared to the X20 which only has 2 which means better signal stronger connections.

Then you have X60 with 6 streams compared to the X20 with 4 streams which becomes important if your adding a lot of devices on the network who need to talk a lot. Or are centered in certain parts of the house.

Real world performance from the tests I saw, you will be getting around 550-600Mbps from the X20 while the X60 will push around 700Mbps on the top end to a compatible client.

Hope that helped you, like I said if you need it now the X20 is not bad, but the X60 shines a lot brighter same goes for the X55 (watered down version of the X60) which is very similar to the X20.
I had the 3 nodes of X60 in my house and it was too slow, frequent disconnects on video chats and everything. I bought 3 more nodes thinking it just needed more coverage despite my house not being anywhere close to the range it states. It continues to get 30-50mbps despite having over 10 times that speed to the main deco unit. I saw the new units I got were a different firmware so I switched one of them to the main. Still the same issues but now I see that a lot of the previous functionality is now gated behind a $5/mon subscription for all the nodes. Garbage. I'm going to return the new nodes and hock the existing and try to find something else that doesnt have cloud subscription for services that I dont even want to be on the cloud. Since when did router functionality need to phone home to a central service? No wonder these things are getting hacked left and right.

I bought a TP Link product called Deco M9 plus about 18 months ago… that mesh router was a piece of junk… wifi lost connectivity multiple times a day… TP Link did not offer any customer service or fix.
I will never buy or recommend TPLink products …

Btw anyone considering the Deco X20 save your money and get the X60 minimum for a few bucks more than on sale.... the X20 makes no sense when its hardware is gimped but almost the same price as the X60.
Where are you seeing the X60 even close to the X20 in price and if I don't need the extra range, and my connection won't really be going above 500mbps in the near future, does it still make sense? I see the other posts about $200 now so $170 vs $200 I guess....

So what I said is true, you just have something funky going on, but its not the products fault.

Not sure but thats not normal so probably defective unit or issues in the environment. As can be seen by MANY professional reviewers the speeds are there on all their units.

As for not wanting to be behind a subscription thats for their advanced parental controls, just about every company charges for it, netgear with their orbis, Eero with their mesh. Only company that does not charge for it currently is Asus.

Hacked left and right, care to elaborate cause I have seen nothing about them getting hacked more than any other brand?

Costco deal it was $200 not to long ago and Costco reruns their deals so it will probably come back around. If you dont plan on going above 500Mbps you should be fine. The only other things your missing out is a bit more range on the pucks and those extra two streams if you have a lot of network chatter from a ton of smart home devices.

He would be incorrect I already posted the latest firmware and its from 2022 so he has him problems.

Google search the word "sleepa" but replace the "sl" with "k" and you'll find it.

Anyone knows if any of those extenders can be used and configured WIRED to a tplink "one mesh" compatible router?
