It's not a flagship but for 400$ it's a great experience mid-ranger
Sad it has a better fingerprint sensor than my P6 Pro which was a disaster of a phone.
But the 6a has been very well refined and is great for what it does
Defective lemons exist for every phone which is why people like Tidal should just get their phones exchanged instead of shouting for 300$ nonsense lol.
In my book, YT reviewers want Google to be like Apple on Android, so they are all crazy about this phone, saying like a smaller version of P6 for less money, great camera, pure android experience, etc. But as a real user, I was surprised to feel the phone is so hot after shooting a video, to see the wifi not a full bar although I am in the same room with the router. Most of all, I put the phone to the extreme battery saving mode overnight, but it still used 7%!, which is normal battery use for other phones. Their tensor chip is not complete, yet. So, keep these in mind if you want to purchase this. Wifi signal and b attery life are mentioned in passing by reviewers, but it is crucial in real use.
I was so happy with P3aXL, and P4a, so did not hesitate to buy this, but not so happy this time.
I've had my 4a 5G since launch and I've never heard of this issue (dust behind camera lens). Sounds like a defect on your particular phone. I would have returned or file a warranty claim. Did you?
I went from a 3a to a 6a as well. No issues so far and seems like a great phone. The fingerprint scanner worked better before I put a 9h screen protector on it, but once I got used to using it everything is fine.
Yeah I opted to go without the screen protector because of the issues I had heard. First time doing that but just a chance I'm willing to take for the scanner to be more accurate. Nothing will be as good as the rear fingerprint scanners were, I've come to terms with that lol. But until they revert back to that, if ever, got to go with the flow. It works good enough for me so far.

I havent used the 4a5g for a few months got them mixed up.
In 2022, no wireless charging, 60hz refresh rates, and plastic backs can almost be forgiven on a $400 mid-tier phone. Unstable connectivity on the fastest networks, excessive heat, and an unreliable fingerprint sensor cannot.

You can Google search and you'll find it's a very common issue. And yes, i sent it in as phone was only a few months old and always in a case since day one. After two weeks, their 3rd party repair shop said it was because physical damage (once again, phone was mint, they were just taking payments for estimating and saying that to not actually have to do any work - great scam actually...) Google wanted like $400 to repair then, which on Reddit I've seen where ppl did pay for repair and it happened again. I got mine preorder and one of the first to receive, maybe they fixed later batches?
