I'm not sure how they work these days, but there was a $60 immobilizer bypass that i had to purchase as well, though they did put that in the sales flyer most of the time.
And I had to give them one of my keys - forever. Back then it was just a regular key, but mine had a chip in it, so it wasn't exactly cheap to give one up. I can't imagine how much one of those fancy flip out keys cost these days.
Sucks cuz I'm down to 1 key now, but the car isn't worth spending $100 on a key spare key anymore. I have a $3 copy. It won't start the car, but at least I have the cut saved.
its actually really useful especially if you want to start it from far away in a parking garage. its unlimited range and having the remote option of controlling your vehicle features on your phone including the heated seats is cool. Unless you are 60+ years old idk who wouldnt want this feature

So thank you for the follow-up comment! I wonder why they can and do use the term "drone"? It isn't like you get a drone included.
Those features are nice indeed (for higher-end vehicles). Not needed or that helpful for me as I said. Definitely not for $500.
If/when it gets close to the prices you mentioned, it may be on my consideration list as I would enjoy the extra benefits now and then for my next vehicle.
Currently keeping my older model vehicle in service due to the terrible market situation post-covid, so not nearly as fancy as yours. And 60 is the new 40.
