I have both T7 and 1TB version of this. This one is a little faster than T7 on my intel Mac. Actually it performs better in most test categories, but their differences are not noticeable in daily use
As with any drive, always retain a backup elsewhere. Then it is fine.

The post to which you responded to was far more useful than your useless post.

I don't think this deal is for you if you can't tell what this is, haha. Just the title of the post alone should inform you.

So if it looks like the Thunderbolt 4 on my Macbook can do 40 Gb/s, it might be worth it to get a higher end drive?

Which would be much more expensive since TB3/4 enclosures are fairly pricey, around $150+ for decent enclosure alone, plus the cost of the drive. Samsung X5 isn't too cheap either.

Just an FYI, I have the 2TB and 1TB versions of these drives. Both have died within a year.

I guess that's where the 5 yr warranty comes in handy. No issues with my 2 TB that I got during summer but only have ~1 TB data on it and I mainly use it as a fast storage device and not as a scratch vol.

Get a high endurance micro SD with a USB adapter instead. It'll last longer
