IMO These are very similar to 560s but less expensive, more versitile (don't require an amp), and more comfortable, both to wear, and less shrill treble. Nearly perfect to me, but that's just me. I might just get a second pair at this price. Or, if you want them in white with brown ear pads, these are the same headphones despite no "SE".

You are welcome. ; ) And could you link to Senn store? You're link takes me to Amazon. When I go to Senn Outlet, it shows $85, not $65. I'd def grab the "like new" refurb at $65, unless you need pristine packaging. I bought mine from Senn Outlet "like new". The heaphones were just like new, but the box was plain cardboard, Amazon Frustration-Free packaging perhaps as the SE were/are maybe an Amz exclusive, and a (shipping?) label had been cut off the box with a utility knife. Warranty was 2 yr, same as new. They say free returns for 30 days, so not nearly as good as buying from Amzn. Either way, these are winners. I've had several AKG reference cans, one HiFi Man, the HD569 closed-backs (Meh),the PRO 280s, and no Beyer Dyn because everyone says the highs can be fatiguing and I can't stand that. The HD599SE's are freaking great IMO, and BTW you can ro to RTINGS dot com to read review and comparisons to HD560s and the Beyers probably.

Pickup an Antlion Modmic and you're golden for any headset(s) you own, it uses a magnetic stick-on to attach the mic and you can swap between headsets if required. When not in use you can pivot it upwards and out of the way or just take it out and only have a little magnet nub on the side of your headset. Do be aware though it adds an extra cable that you'll need to deal with. I just sleeved my cable so the headset cable and the modmic cable are in it together so there's no mess or tangle.

V-Moda and others make a mic that slots into a 3.5mm jack on cans but in my experience the Modmic is just a better product in terms of longevity and audio quality, do be aware that some computer motherboards might not be able to drive the modmic and may need a soundcard. Prior to an upgrade my old motherboard (cheapest of the cheap that I could overclock on) didn't have the beans to run it so I needed to add a soundcard but once did a new build the more modern motherboard (and higher end) ran it without issue.


Also worth noting that if you have Chase Ultimate Rewards there is a targeted offer of if you use 100 reward points ($0.80) Amazon will take off $20 Be Aware This Is Very Targeted I was not offered this by Chase. There is a second targeted offer of up to $15 off when using Chase points on an amazon product (deducted from the total on Amazon) when you use 1 chase ultimate reward point on a purchase...but again It's Very Targeted and of course I wasn't given that promo. Worth looking into if you have your Chase card linked to amazon.

If you want an open back headset for gaming, best option rn are the Philips SHP9600 which are on sale too. I have the SHP9500 and added a V-Moda BoomPro mic
