What does modern warfare have to do with this?
It's a joke - MW19 was known for huge install sizes.

Thanks for the cringe.

That said, this isn't a bad deal, nearly 15 a tb which is a sweet spot.

I bought 2 of these (and 3x of the 14TB!) during Black Friday. They're great for backup storage (my use case), but a total hassle for having anything that you might want to randomly access throughout the day. They seem to go to sleep after a couple minutes of being idle, and take about 15 seconds to become usable again. They also make weird buzzing/clicking noises pretty regularly.

The price point isn't where I want it to be, but I'm not going to sweat the $20. I was able to backup about 25 smaller drives to this one and keep everything in one spot.

This goes for any easystore/ My Book. I have 4, 6 and 8's and whenever I go to access them they spin up, click a few dozen times and then I can access the data. Of course, I don't have that problem with the shucked drives.

Thanks! I have a lot of the older/smaller drives and this one seemed to be quite a bit more noticeable (maybe it just 'sleeps' quicker?)

Is the software worth installing for these to function better or are they pretty worthless?

Download WD Drive Utilities, if you're using these as externals then you can disable that the timer from that software. That app ONLY works on EASYSTORE drives.
