And you can turn the led off.

I bought multiple hdd from BB and for the first time I bought from WD directly.. Seems like the easystore HDDs from BB are a lot quieter. Not sure if anyone else notices.

As was the case with the WD 14TB yesterday, this can also be purchased from EBay (seller: Best Buy).

It is the same price ($269.99) on EBay but may be a better option for those with EBay Bucks or other available forms of an EBay discount.

Which utility does that? I've never had any luck with any externals keeping them from spinning down. It's so annoying and probably not good for the drives either? I have heard of Windows utilities to force the disk on but always leery of third party stuff etc

You can download it. It's called WD Drive Utilities. Only works with Easystore drives
