Good price at $13.89 per TB.
My Chase Ink VISA has 10% cashback at BB.
Typically (historically) the drives in the easystore are rate limited to 5400 rpm by the firmware even if their enterprise equivalents are 7200 rpm.

I prefer 5400 rpm. Less noise and heat. Still plenty fast to max out a 1 gbit LAN connection.

Thanks OP!

Wow great deal. I think I'm going to try to hold out for the 20tb model though.

When the price difference is 20% of the total cost of the product.... that's pretty significant.
Also, everyone should have backups for their data (or they don't care about it in the first place), no reason not to buy mostly on price here.
Plus these are usually efficient helium drives which run cool and quiet compared to most enterprise drives.

I prefer these for multiple reasons over getting an "enterprise" drive. If I hadn't already bit on the 14TB for $200 not long ago, I would definitely pick up at least one of these. Nice deal OP!

Windows will report the storage space as less than advertised because in Windows, 1TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes, not 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. However, that number is being applied to your files as well, so you are still getting the same amount of storage even if it doesn't seem like it.

I buy a couple of easystores each year and each one is still going strong. This is a great deal.

Only negative is it takes a few seconds to start up if its connected to a PC, but it's not that big of a deal for the savings. I also have one connected to a Nvidia Shield TV Pro and it runs 50gb 4k movies fine on Plex.

Would these be good shucked as network drives? I have a Synology NAS used as a plex server that is pretty much full at the moment and have been looking for expansion.
