I have that plus FireTV and the Shield is great but for overall streaming (I think) FireTV with Amazon is better (it has the best app support).
Shield really shines in gaming if you're into that. Has a nice controller too (costs extra).
Glad Nvidia has stuck with this product, but its now over 3 years old without a new model.

Stay away from this non-pro version no matter how tempting the price. It simply does not have the chops to handle large associated files for whatever technical reasons. Read reviews. Stuttering (especially on large quality streams) etc.
I've had no issues with any of the Pro's I own for over 5 years!
Best thing about buying this from Amazon is you can usually return this relatively easily.
Hope people boycotts this such that nvidia makes a new revision soon...

So, in terms of longevity, you may want to consider the Pro instead. Also, this is from 2019, and previously NVIDIA had been on a two-year update cycle, so we are overdue.
It's a shame no other mfg wants to create a premium Google TV experience and catch these guys sleeping having milked their customers for years. Even Google itself went backwards from a clearly aging ccgtv to bringing out a cheaper 1080 version. They should've updated the og ccgtv to be the basic cheap model and create a Plus version with better processing, ram and on board storage or added a card slot along with Ethernet and hdmi port, not a built in cable.
Even the new reference device is still basic entry level hardware, ram and storage.
