If your editing 4K videos with audio from THX certified hardware you shouldn't be looking at this.

However if your going to be real with yourself and maybe you'll edit a video here and there some photos but mostly checking on Slickdeals or some other websites, opening word doc then this is perfectly fine for you.

999 to guarantee at least 4 years of updates (should be more but the 8gb may be pushing by then) and you'll probably be able to trade up with a value $150+ by then.

So amortization cost is $250 (+ tax) a year for owning this laptop.

You can of course step is up and pay another $600 and look for a sale on a 14" pro but let's be serious…. THATS ANOTHER $600.

You can look for a sale on 16gb $1249… but that's another $250 + tax and ahh… if your using this laptop here and there you weren't going to buy an air as a powerhouse in the first place.

Btw 256 is also a bit low but if your not gaming or editing then your fine, worst case wait for a sale on a external 1TB (yeah I know slower tx speeds).

Apple needs to release 16gb version for this price, I don't care if it's M1...
