This is an awesome package. 6800h is great and the igpu is awesome. I'd totally get if I didn't recently buy a Zephyrus G14.

The website warns that going to 32gb won't allow you to pick the OLED screen, but it's not in the options anyways…

Upgrading to 32GB memory and 1TB is $842. Not bad.

those are intel cpu though, compares to the 680m on 6800H, the graphic performance is day and night, 680m is on par with GTX 1650, and the intel cpu prob ran out of battery in 3 hours, 6800h can do 10+ hours while still have a iGPU double the performance of intel iris xe

How does this compare to the NewEgg Asus deal that was posted a couple days back?
To me it seems like the Asus setup is better than this one but I dont know a ton about computers.
https://slickdeals.net/f/16311016-asus-vivobook-s-14x-laptop-14-5-oled-2-8k-120hz-i7-12700h-12gb-ram-512gb-ssd-600-w-affirm-700
The Vivobook has a faster but more power-hungry cpu (i7-12700H) but the igpu (Iris xe) is slower (by 50%) than the Thinkbook (Ryzen 7 6800H with Radeon 680M igpu). This translates to one to two hours fewer battery life on the Vivobook (~6 hours on medium settings). Brighter OLED (uses more power) 120Hz screen (Asus) vs slightly dimmer IPS display (Lenovo). The Vivobook is more upgradeable because of one removeable memory slot (max 40GB, DDR4), while the Thinkbook has soldered memory (max 32GB, LPDDR5).

Performance wise, they should be pretty close because the Vivobook is thermal-throttled due to more power-hungry components (cpu, memory, display). The Thinkbook is a more balanced laptop with better battery life and more than adequate performance for daily use. But if you encode a lot of videos and compile a lot of codes, the Vivobook will complete these tasks quicker (20% - 40%).

Thank you for this information.

I purchased the Vivobook and was debating returning it and buying the Thinkbook but I'll keep the Vivobook based on the fact that it sounds like it has better performance at the cost of battery life.

But by then you'll have posted: "AMD's next-gen laptop CPU's (Ryzen 8000 Monster Plateau) are just around the corner. There'll be plenty of throughout the year. At least another 25% off current deals by next BF."

FREE Standard Delivery: Get it between Fri. Mar 31 - Tue. Apr 04

3+ month wait...and may get delayed further as Lenovo is notorious for shipping delays, lost items, and supply chain issues. By that time the next gen computers will be around the corner.

Just got this with the upgraded 32gb of RAM and 1TB SSD, came to $905.xx total with the two coupons. Might cancel if I can find a better refresh rate (comes @ 60Hz), higher nits (is 300 that bad?), and an OLED screen, but the specs look great otherwise. Anyone know how this compares to the latest Dell XPS 13? That's what I'm replacing; it's a 7yr old refurb and doesn't work unless it's plugged in. Couldn't find many reviews on this Thinkpad, but go figure, says "New Arrival" on their site. Lol having buyers remorse already but whatever, I'm sure I can cancel if something better pops up. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions! 🙏

Lenovo still won't let me buy it. I see other people have been able to purchase it so I must not be one of the cool kids. I'll just have to keep my eye out for a similar spec and price that isn't Lenovo.

I contacted Lenovo and they said there is a block on my account. I've done a cookie clear, different browser, even used a VPN. They said yesterday they would email security and let me know. Nothing. Still blocked. I'm done with them.

I ordered a couple of days ago, also with 32GB RAM. During checkout, estimated ship date was end of March, but now order status shows shows estimated delivery date of January 26. Who knows if that'll hold, but canceling is hassle-free, so just try it.

man I wish this had an option for a lower res, but faster screen. even 120 hz would be great!
The igpu is enough for Rocket League and esports, but the refresh and response rate really start to matter when you get competitive.

Huge step down in many ways. 6800H is a full speed 8-core Rembrandt CPU running much faster than the Barcelo 5625 in your HP (Barcelo is a 2021 CPU, with much lower graphics). HP also has a much lower battery life (43 Wh) - that's how they get 2.2 pound weight. This is not USB-C charging - note the smart pin comment. Be careful of the folding USB-A ports - they are potential breaking points. Wifi 5 (is the Lenovo Wifi 6)? And this is only a 13.3" display. A decent keyboard is a $20 upgrade (never noticed that before).

Net is that ThinkBook is Lenovo's SMB design - this HP machine is consumer grade. Caveat emptor. I have a Lenovo machine with a 6000 CPU and it runs great (it's not this ThinkBook) - use it for work. I've found that 13" is a little small at times - so check the keyboard layout to make you don't get compromised key layout.

I agree in terms of your soldered memory comments - it is done for quality reasons (note that Apple has soldered their memory for years, and now solders their HDDs; Dell is soldering both on the XPS13). I worry about HP - they have lost a ton of market share in the last year (check out the IDC and Gartner PC market share numbers - next update in about 2 weeks).
I have an HP Aero and it is able to charge via the usb-c port. I actually had to rely on that for some months as I was over-seas and the outlets didn't have the 3rd grounding hole. the only adapters I could find seemed like they were likely to start a fire than not. Luckily I had a decent type-c charger with me.
