If you want to compare this to similar heaters from other brands this model is closest to the Mr. Heater "Big Buddy" model which regularly sells in the $150 price range and is currently $112 at Amazon.

Can be used inside is vague. For short durations or on occasion, yes, but i'd use a bit of ventilation and some other safeguards.
I wouldn't consider it wise to run it inside all winter.
so is the connection for the 20lb tank included?
"Two 1 lb LP Tank Run Time: 2 hrs (high) - 8 hrs (low)"
will 20lb tank give me 20 hrs (high) - 3 days 8 hrs (low) ?

Want a good laugh? I literally started a conversation with a friend of mine a few weeks ago about why propane or natural gas stoves are somehow allowed and considered safe in the home yet portable ones are not. Then recently I started hearing about the banning of of them in the home because of CO pollution issues. Is this an issue while making a plate of scrambled eggs? Obviously not. A day like Thanksgiving with the oven going hours on end and all the burners going as well? I imagine CO levels can quickly become toxic in the average home without proper ventilation. I imagine most homes don't have proper or adequate ventilation in a situation like that. Granted opening a window or door will probably provide enough ventilation to be safe but how many homes have no idea this a potential issue? A proper CO monitor is what every home should have to monitor this potential deadly issue. I prefer a gas stove stop for most cooking but lately I am starting to accept the fact an electric stove top is probably the safer way to go. Granted I don't cook for hours on end so a gas stove top would probably be totally safe for me. Still I do understand the concern and agree it is a real issue in some instances. With all that said most "bakers" would agree electric ovens is the way to go in terms of temp management and humidity. My wife is an incredible baker and she prefers an electric oven over gas by a very large margin.
Other than that, it seems to be fine.
No, I didn't get one with mine. It's an extra you have to buy.
I would suggest a Y adapter so you can use the tank at max output vs 1 side. But, I use this just for myself, and a couple feet from my seating area works fine outdoors.
And it doesn't say anything about using a Y adapter when hooking up a remote tank (nor does it say which side to connect it to).
Edit: I just fired it. Just the side with the tank and adapter was lit for a while. Eventually the other side was also lit. So I guess no Y adapter is needed for this.
Maybe they don't recommend running a single 1 lb. tank because it doesn't put out enough volume to run both sides?
I have a 1lb tank to 20lb tank adapter to use with my Weber Q portable grill. I can try it to see if it will light both sides as it would with two 1lb tanks installed. I assume it won't since there is nothing you can adjust to make it do so. I believe a "Y" adapter would be necessary to get full output to both sides. I could be wrong of course but that is what I see. I will try to test it over the next few days with the single adapter hose I have on hand.
I don't mind using the 1lb tanks though. It makes it a lot more portable. Just buy enough for your needs and then refill the 1lb tanks yourself using a 20lb tank. The adapter is cheap and it is fairly easy to do. You do need a scale and some patience but it can easily be done. I fill tanks whenever I am doing yardwork. It is a slow process but fairly easy to do. You just don't want to over fill them. That could be dangerous if you were to store them overfilled. When the tanks get warm the pressure can increase and then they will vent excess pressure. Leaking propane is obviously not safe. The Coleman 1lb tanks I use weigh ~29.4 ounces when full. Obviously empty would be 16 ounces less or ~13.4 ounces. As long as you fill them properly they are perfectly safe and can be refilled a lot of times. If a leak develops from the over pressure valve obviously discontinue use.

I tested my tank with a single hookup to my external 5lb tank, and on Max setting BOTH section DO light up! I mixed that up for something that may have happened at some point.
But YES, the single tank does light up both sides.
I am actually curious on how this tech works...
So the pilot is constantly lit, and the cermaic looking heats have some other area where the propan gas leaks into the ceramic and the pilot lights it up? LOL. Any links if anyone knows would be interesting to see.
Cheers!
