M2 with 256gb 8gb $999
Seems like a no brainer Save $200 bucks - no 8k video editing for me lol
def waiting for later this year for the m2 to drop to this price. don't really care about the m2.. but the lack of ports on the m1 is disgusting. i only want the m2 model bc it actually has ports. not a fan of dongles/hubs.

In short, as long as you reign in the tab hoarding and reboot if things ever do bog down, this is a phenomenal laptop for the price. Battery, power, screen, materials, and general feel scream quality. Under normal use, it's cool to the touch with no noisy fans, even when sitting directly on a bed/couch for hours. It's scary how much they've leapfrogged x86-64 laptops in this category.
Also, Windows 11 is starting to feel like a "freemium" experience, with ads, popups. and upsales galore. No preinstalled Tiktok here. I use and fix Windows computers all day and this is the one I'm happier to come home to.
