File format? You mean file system? I would probably use ExFAT but if it's only used with Windows machine you can also format it with NTFS.

Mine is slow and files disappear/reappear on windows. Would buy again at this price just to have something to use in a pinch/hand off to someone else.

I bought this 2 months ago, beware Maximum write speed I seen is only 12-13 mb, On package it said its USB 3.1, they are fake

I rarely buy any external storage devices from Amazon for that reason.

Amazon is all fake, Gillete razors I purchased from official amazon store were fake.

However I bought this from Best Buy.com . This time its this Brand which is lying to us and selling fake drive. Don't purchase this particular drive from any store
