Just wanted a solid entry/mid-range card to replace an old RX 550 that seems to have some intermittent issues. I bought that nearly 5 years ago as a stopgap, but then the GPU market went completely insane.
Not terribly concerned about frame rates, but I wanted the AV1 encoder for some degree of future-proofing. I figure I might someday take up some video editing or streaming. I will probably not upgrade again for many years, so I didn't want to settle for the A380. For my use case, this card seems like a pretty good deal.
Based on this youtuber testing of SVT AV1(8)/(7) vs Intel AV1 (and H264), the quality of Intel AV1 is better than X264 veryslow at low bitrate
But SVT AV1 (like using handbrake software) is a big leap over Intel AV1 in term of quality using the same bitrate.

Until I upgraded to a mobo with that resizable BAR, certain icons in Destiny 2 would appear corrupted which was a turn off. Swapped all that out and things are so far running pretty good.
Will help your purchase to go down a little =D

Still I am glad there are good gaming options for less than 250, which this is. You can do quite a bit with this card at 1080p.
They were outplayed and then kept shooting themselves in the foot while trying to cling to very meaningless amounts of money that rightfully should go back to the customers for various reasons... losing those customers in the process. They even had a warehouse here in NJ which gave them a big leg up since we'd regularly get next day deliveries for free. Amazon now has one as well but it depends on what you're ordering whether you get fast delivery.
The real nail in the coffin was when Amazon started carrying the same products Newegg specialized in along with their insanely easy return policies. It just wasn't worth the hassle to purchase from Newegg anymore and after the last 2-3 years, I just don't order from them out of principle anymore.

I mean to write, gtx 1080. Ty for the data and correction. I pulled it up for gtx 1080 on userbenchmark and it is indeed very similar.

I know, it's $30 (+tax) extra, but if you take into consideration the fact that A750 consumes about 30W more when Idle and over 30W when gaming, and at current rate of ~ 15 cents/KW, I would say in about two years your are going to break even and after that it will be cheaper to have the 6650.
If you plan to swap the video card in under 2 years, yes, go with A750.
